The 28 year was given an hour wearing plain t-shirt and jeans, and another hour wearing suit and tie. # What to be considered wearing
You cannot just wake up in the morning and pick one clownish violet t-shirt or a rainbow colored tie to put on and go to your workplace. There are many different points you have to look at when choosing the best outfit for the day.

Firstly, you have to understand what line of work you are in to. You need to know how your boss dresses. You need to get a feel of what your company is like, and then you will be able to base on all these factors while choosing a parent dress code.

If you want to be the boss, then dress like your boss itself. Find out which stores they get their clothing from and attack the stores with your full pockets. Remember, your boss is the one to give you promotions, thus cloning your boss’s style makes them see themselves in you, in not just performance wise but image wise too. This you should really consider investing on some dresses to gain success in your career.

# What not to consider wearing
Even if you do not want to look savvier than your boss does, at least try to dress normally. Do not over dressmaking you look like slobs. Just make sure you do not cross the limits of what your office atmosphere allows you to. Being under dressed is ill advised, but over dressing is also of no good too. After all, wearing an over coat in summer or a bow tie in a meeting will just end up making you the fool of the day.

# Keep yourself tidy
Do not forget to wash up regularly; do not even have a microscopic sized spot visible on your clothing. If you are into long travel or heavy-duty work, learn to crumple your shirt in a tidy manner.

Refer to some fashion sites and learn the latest official fashion trends. They are a great help for boosting your image with modern fashion and a role model in your work place.

Not Eligible? Add Values to your Skills – Now

Posted by: Kayes on: 23 Feb, 2009

My skillsNot too back in the past, during the period of the economic boom, employers had to offer a rational motivate to find them some serious employees. The situation was like employees could negotiate its own position, of course depending on the type and case of job level. Sincere employees were so scarce during the period that they used themselves as a position of strength.

But now, the scenario is just the opposite.

Now that world is facing a prolonged economical recession. Now a days, employers are peeling off jobs and the emphasis has changed trend to as what you can provide the employer with – not what the employer will provide you with.

In this scarce job market, competition is no doubt at their very peak. Moreover, here employers have more choices when hiring an employee and this choice mainly depends on how much you can offer the company in terms of skills and knowledge. It is on you to walk up to the employers to make them offers of what you can do for them that is incomparable and irresistible to employers, assuring you to be selected as a  employee ensuring a job at the current economy.

You might be thinking of how is it possible?

The answer to it is you just need to be multi skilled, rather than just mastering in one field. A multi- skilled person have more choices to offer to the company that a rather single skilled person who has focused on only one field in their entire life.

Companies which are shredding jobs right now to reinvent themselves with expert workforce need more flexible, multi-task accomplisher and smart employees. Employers should such like they can switch jobs and work out tasks easily. Employees should realize that they are not just a functionary in the company, but rather be some one who would assist the company to make some major turnaround.

People nowadays are more or less multi-skilled, but employees traditionally was prefer if they were more concentrated on a single topic, multi-skilled peoples of that time often found themselves sitting by the road side.

But the phenomenon took a different route, the emphasis is set to vote for multi-skilled employees to prove their value to the company – the functionaries are to be fired right away!
Retraining is to be made for future employees as an obligation. It is such that multi-skilled employees who develop their brains out side should benefit more to the organization they are working for.

Self development is more important than forcing one’s self for nurturing these skills. In order to survive in this new economy and the tougher ones ahead, we should produce self initiatives rather than wait for someone to spoon feed us. We need to realize and admit the new realities of living standers in this modern society where competition has its no end, jobs are their rare events until you are a standalone compared to thousand others, and that you yourself must provide as much as you can to your employer.

It is not just about your past academic performances, not the number of certificates you have or neither the diploma or degree title that carries along with you, but literally the skills that you are mastered in that can assure you to be one unique in a million others.

Why Some Women Cross The Finish Line Ahead Of Men?

Posted by: Kayes on: 08 Feb, 2009

Women who apply for jobs in middle or senior management have higher success rate than men, according to an employment survey. But of course far fewer of them apply for these positions. The study, by recruitment consultants NB selection, shows that while one in six men who appear on interview shortlists get jobs, the figure rises to one in four for women.

The study concentrated on applications for management positions in the $45,000 to $1, 10,000 salary ranges and found that women are more successful than men in both the private and public sectors. Dr. Elisabeth Marx form London based NB selection described the findings as encouraging for women, in that they send a positive message to them to apply for interesting management positions. But she added, “We should not lose sight of the fact that significantly fewer women apply for senior positions in comparison with men”.

Reasons for higher success rates among women are difficult to isolate. Managerial and executive progress made by woman is confirmed by the annual survey of board of directors carried out by Korn/Ferry/Carre/Orban International. The survey shows a doubling of the number of women serving as non-executive directors compared with previous years. However, progress remains painfully slow and there were still only 18 posts filled by women out of a total of 354 non-executive positions surveyed. Hilary Sears, a partner with Korn/Ferry said, “Women have raised the level of grades we are employed in but we have still not broken through barriers to the top.”

In Europe a recent features of corporate life in the recession has been the delayering of management structures. Sears said that this has halted progress for women in as much as de-layering has taking place either where women are working or in layers they aspire to. Sears also noted a positive trend from the recession, which has been the growing number of women who have started of their own.

In business as a whole, there are a number of factors encouraging the prospect of greater quality in the workforce. Demographic trends suggest that the numbers of women going are now passing through Higher education, making them better qualified to move to into management positions.

Organization such as European Management Development Network provides a range of opportunities for women to enhance their skills and contacts. Through a series of both pan European and national workshops and conferences the barriers to women in employment are being broken down.
